Toll free numbers are not going anywhere. 1) Toll Free numbers allow better accessibility for customers and prospects, 2) Toll Free numbers are extremely inexpensive at the moment and with the integration of VOIP there are a number of great toll free plans. To see the best 800 number service plans take a look at http://1800numberservice.org where toll free services are compared.

It is now an automated behavior: when you need to contact a company you first ask about the 1-800 number. I was reading an article were a guy was looking on a computer dealer website for the 1 800 number. He was so stuck with the idea of calling that number that he reached the online contact form and instead of writing his problem, he asked them if they had a 1 800 no.

We, as business owners - as I am one of them, have to think ahead of the situations. We have to be able to forecast the customer reaction, move, thought.

And I stick to my opinion exactly for this reason. It happened to me as well to be asked by customers about the 1 800 no. I didn't have one 3 years ago and when I was giving them my office no. they were always asking if it is the correct number.

You can not let go the toll free numbers! They are a customer delight and you can be reached easier and faster, not mentioning the customer gets attracted because they do not have to pay for the call. I agree with dropping the fax service but keep your 1-800 number.
