Hi Wendy, thanks for sharing! I'd heard about the Livescribe Pulse smartpen and had seen the video. Now I know it really works. I'll see if I can get the company to send me one to write about.

Peggy, like you, I travel. Often to conventions. And though I'm speaking, I pick up a lot {a lot} of paper. So George bought me the Visioneer Road Warrior scanner. It connects to my laptop by USB. It weighs 11 ounces. I return to my office paperless. Joy!

I've also learned to love my Livescribe Pulse smartpen. I've used it to take notes in convention ballrooms with more than 4,000 people, and more frequently at conference room tables. Write with the pen, in the notebook, then attach the pen to laptop and upload the notes. Click with the mouse on any word and hear, {yes! hear!} what was being said when that word was written. This has totally changed the way I take notes. If they're talking about a book, I draw a rectangle. If it's interesting, I sketch a palm tree. Best, though, is that I can PenCast! Simply upload the page, send out the link, and anyone I choose can see my notes, and hear, {yes! hear!} what was being said. It's marvelous for board meetings, one-on-ones, and interviews.

My third must-have would be thumb drives. I have a 4Gig that's the size of my thumbnail. My new book lives there. And a 16Gig that is bright orange, I copy my documents there every day. And one for pictures from my phone and camera. Another for personal things. They snuggle securely in a red leather pouch that rides in my bag if I'm in town, in my carry-on if not. Easy to use on someone else's computer when I don't want to rev up my own.
